What this site is
A2 Basics is a curated directory of the Amazon Basics product line. Every page you see is a listing built from Amazon’s own catalog — we add short summaries and organize things by category, and every buy button routes to Amazon to complete the purchase.
Where the data comes from
Each product listing has two kinds of information, updated on different schedules.
Durable details — titles, features, dimensions, model numbers, UPC and EAN codes, colors, sizes — come from Amazon’s product data directly. When Amazon changes a title or adds a variant, we pick up the change on the next catalog refresh.
Prices, availability, and product images are pulled fresh from Amazon at least twice a day. Every price you see on the site is stamped with the exact UTC time we retrieved it, so you know how recent it is. Regardless of what we show, the price you pay is the one Amazon shows at checkout.
How the summaries are written
Every product page carries two short pieces of copy written by us:
- TL;DR — a 2-3 sentence factual summary of what the product is and its main practical qualities.
- Best for — a one-line note on the ideal buyer or use case.
Both are generated by a language model working strictly from the product’s own listed features and specifications. No fabricated reviews, no invented specs, no manufactured buyer testimonials. Features are shown verbatim from Amazon’s product listing.
What we don’t publish
- Star ratings or review counts. We don’t run a review system, so we don’t display one.
- First-party testing claims. We haven’t personally used most of the products on this site.
- Sponsored placement. Every product is listed on the same terms; none paid to appear.
When comparison content or category recommendations exist, they’ll explain the criteria openly.
Update cadence
- Prices and availability — refreshed at least every 12 hours. See the timestamp next to any price on the site.
- Product listings — refreshed whenever new Amazon Basics products are added or when Amazon restructures a category.
- Machine-readable feed — a full Schema.org DataFeed at /feed.json for anyone building on top of the catalog.
When we’re wrong
If a listing shows outdated information, a wrong specification, a broken image, or a discontinued product, let us know.

We are not employed by, sponsored by, or endorsed by Amazon. We earn a small commission when someone clicks through and completes a purchase on Amazon; that commission does not influence what we list or how we describe it.
